What is Tier 2?

Tier 2 is designed for less experienced ninjas or ninjas that just want a little more practice in a competition environment. At a Tier 2 event, the course will be designed for beginner-intermediate ninjas.

Who can compete in a Tier 2 event?

Tier 2 is open to beginner/intermediate athletes. To participate in Tier 2 an athlete is only eligible if they were not invited to WNL Premier Series events or have a power score lower than 1574

What format is this competition?

This event gives athletes the opportunity to compete in two different competition formats: a Challenge Course and a Skills Competition!

The Challenge Course is a great format for newer athletes because falling on an obstacle does not necessarily end their run!

Athletes will work their way through the course one obstacle at a time. If an athlete fails an obstacle, they may return to the start of that obstacle and try again. Athletes are allowed up to three total retries throughout the course, with a maximum of two failed attempts on any single obstacle.

Athletes are ranked by the number of obstacles they successfully complete, with time used to separate athletes who complete the same number of obstacles.

The Skills Competition gives athletes several shorter opportunities to compete instead of one longer course.

For this event, athletes will compete on two different Flow courses, and they will get two attempts at each course, giving them four total results.

Each attempt is ranked separately based on the athlete’s performance. Those four placements are then added together to determine the overall Skills leaderboard. The lowest combined score wins. This means you want to place as high as possible on each attempt! The WNL rulebook describes the Skills overall ranking as the sum of an athlete’s placements across the individual skills, with the lowest total placement ranked highest.

Example: If an athlete places 1st, 2nd, 1st and 1st across their four attempts, their overall score would be 5 (1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 5).

This format gives athletes multiple chances to compete, learn, and improve throughout the event—which makes it especially fun for athletes who are newer to competition.

Tentative Schedule:

Kids (ages 6-8): 9:00 AM

Mature Kids (9-10): 11:30 AM

Preteens (11-12): 1:45 PM

Teen (13-14), Young Adult (15-17), Adult (18+), Masters (40+): 4:00 PM

 

Awards will follow after completion of each category

 

Check-in time is 20 minutes prior to start time listed above for each category.

 

Run order will be determined by the WNL.

Register by November 13th at noon to be placed in the random run order.

Registrations after this time will be placed at the beginning of the run order for their category.

Redemption Time/Open Gym to competitors after your group competes/in between waves as time allows.

Open Gym On Friday night?:

Due to event set up, there will be no open gym on Friday night.

Important things to note: 

- Age for WNL is determined on the age a competitor is on January 1, 2026.

- Each athlete will need a Ninjaworks ID this season (for first-time NNL competitors, click: Athlete ID – World Ninja) League

-A waiver is required to compete. Each individual will need a recent Level Up waiver (see top right of webpage)

completed and a season 12 WNL waiver completed.
